Independent Schools Queensland (ISQ) celebrated 50 years of dedicated advocacy and service to the independent schools sector last week on 18 July 2018 with a celebratory dinner at Brisbane Grammar School.
Records show 27 independent secondary schools attended the first meeting, including PMSA schools Brisbane Boys’ College, Clayfield College and Somerville House. ISQ is now the peak body representing more than 200 independent schools in Queensland.
PMSA Chairman Mr Greg Adsett and Clayfield College Principal Mrs Kathy Bishop attended the celebratory dinner.
"The PMSA would like to congratulate ISQ on the important role they play in Queensland’s education sector," said Mr Adsett.
Former Principal of Clayfield College and President of the AISQ Board from 2005 -2007 Carolyn Hauff AM said “it doesn’t matter what the size of the school is, ISQ provides support through membership. There are very few organisations that can celebrate the diversity of membership that ISQ enjoys. Diversity has always been a hallmark of ISQ.”
